Film Shorts

Life Story by Orfan Productions

‘Life Story‘ is a short film about six people from different backgrounds who have received heart or lung transplants. The film shows each person discussing their individual experiences and the emotional journey they have undertaken since transplantation. It was made by Orfan Productions and premiered at our recent Ladies Who Lunch in the D4 Berkeley hotel.

We are very proud of this film and our thanks to Garry McGovern of Orfan Productions for the splendid job.

Our grateful thanks to recipients who participated in the making of ‘Life Story.’

“The Leaky Self Project is all about talking, talking about life after transplantation.
Having a transplant is a big event in anyone’s life with pretty significant knock on effects in our day to day living for the rest of our lives.
Life does go on, albeit in a different way.
In this project we want to talk about life after organ transplantation, both for those of us who have received an organ, and for our families.”

The work manifest’s itself through events, video, installation and photography. For anyone who is interested in fine art and or philosophy you will find this particularly fascinating. Ciara’s Leaky Self project investigates ideas and theories that go beyond the traditional perception of organ transplantation. The documentation of this project has been ongoing through our Blog page (Leaky Self Blog), be sure to check it out.
