The Leaky Self is a multi-platform collaborative art project by the Living Gift Transplant
Support Group and visual artist Ciara McMahon.
The Leaky Self Project is all about talking, talking about life after transplantation. Having a
transplant is a big event in anyone’s life with pretty significant knock on effects in our day
to day living for the rest of our lives. Life does go on, albeit in a different way. In this
project we want to talk about life after organ transplantation, both for those of us who
have received an organ, and for our families.
What does it mean to have an organ
transplant and what’s it like living after
and with transplantation once all
the dust has settled?
This project is a way of talking about those questions. Unsurprisingly, there are no straightforward answers. The Leaky Self project is about talking, discussion and dialogue so to that end we want you to get involved. Our blog gives you a chance to get involved in that discussion too. Your thoughts, questions and musings are very, very welcome.
